My Splintered Homeland

My heart is truly broken,

in a hundred shards of pain.

My homeland is truly broken,

in a hundred shards of shame.

Government so foul, so ugly, so broken;

so malign the quest for power,

it would eat its own to retain.

Rule through corruption, cowers,

and will crumble in ruin again,

and again…

Reflections from the Greek Philosopher Socrates (460-399 BC)

An unexamined life is not worth living.

One thing only I know, and that is that I know nothing.

When the debate is over, slander becomes the tool of the loser.

To find yourself, think for your self.

True knowledge exists in knowing that you know nothing.

Beware the barrenness of a busy life.

Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel.

The only good is knowledge and the only evil is ignorance.

At the End of the Day….

Understand my friend,

we humans are but a trend.

We invent, make good, then destroy, blame and cry;

over and over again,

 never quite learning from the past or caring why.
